  • Wireless Insecurity - Assurance director Neal Wise's long-running series of presentations on wireless and mobility risks and mitigation. Neal has been presenting a "running dialog" on the current state of threats to various wireless technologies including IEEE 802.11a/g/n, Bluetooth™, GPRS/EDGE, UTMS/HSDPA, 1X/WCDMA and proprietary wireless systems such as those based on Microwave, Laser and Infrared.
    This evolving presentation series has been presented over 50 times since its beginning in 2001. Neal has been invited to present on wireless security at AusCERT conferences, Australian Federal Police High Tech Crime Centre annual conferences, the Hack Expo events and as a lecturer at RMIT, Monash and Deakin Universities
    Recently Neal presented "Wireless Insecurity 2008" topics at Wireless World 2008, the University of Ballart's Internet Commerce Security Lab launch, AusCERT 2008 and as a lecture at Deakin University.

  • OpenBSD - explaining the benefits of "Secure by Default" - Presented at SECURECon 2005 with Adrian Close. This was a fun comparative presentation on the default install experience of OpenBSD 3.7 versus Solaris 10 and Fedora Linux release Core 3.
